School Update

As we close another ademic term, Sogeri N.S.O.E is pleased to share an overview of the school’s operations, engagements, and achievements during Term 2. Despite the challenges faced, the school has continued to deliver its academic programme on schedule and to promote academic excellence and good citizenship.

Following the K31,155.41 received in Term 1, the school was supported through Parental Component Fees and Departmental grants. In Term 2 the school began receiving GFEP payments, including the shortfalls owed for Terms 1 and 2.

Total GFEP received to date: K634,947.39

Academic Staff Positional Changes

  • Mr. Iramo Gomara has been elevated to Head of Department – Humanities.
  • Ms. Cathy James has been appointed Senior Subject Master for Humanities (Social Science).
  • Ms. Belinda Tomir joins the Humanities team, bringing valuable teaching experience from Koiari Park Secondary School and Gordons Secondary School.

We warmly welcome Ms. Tomir and congratulate Mr. Gomara and Ms. James on their appointments.

Learning Management System (LMS) Inception

The school is privileged to host the EDUNEX team, engaged by the Department of Education to roll out the LMS project, with the first site visit conducted by the company’s CEO. Five (5) interactive smart boards have been received to strengthen teaching and learning, and a two-day teacher workshop has been organised to build staff confidence with the technology. The school’s own local LMS, SOGERINUMU, is already in use by the English Department and is streamlining many processes.
